Zucchini nightmare – part one

Sheldon (Knock, knock, knock) : Penny (knock, knock, knock) Penny.

Penny: What?

Sheldon (Knock, knock, knock) : Penny. Zucchini bread.

Penny: Oh, thank you.

Sheldon: May I come in?

Penny: No.

When we came back from our holidays, our trunk was full of fresh (and so~ tasty!) vegetables from the garden: cucumbers, salads, beetroots, potatoes, zucchinis… It was awesome. No need to go to the market for a week. Thing is, the zucchinis were giant, I had been eating friend freking zucchinis for days and my stomach got bored. That’s when I watched an episode of The Big Bang Theory, in which Sheldon gives a zucchini bread to Penny. EPIPHANY!!! It was a new way to get rid of my endless amount of squash. So I tried and guess what? That wasn’t bad at all! If you like cinnamon, then there’s a chance you’ll love it.

Hmmmm!!!!! Kouign-amann!!!

Today, a little post without any recipe. Why? Because I want to share with you about the kouign-amann (pronounce it like “Queen Yaman”), which is an awesome sweet, which also is so hard to make a perfect one at home, you’d better buy it. So, no recipe.
Why this post, today? Because the aunt of my beloved one is so kind, she brought back one big cake from Brittany. And not any cake: one from a pastry shop that got prizes for baking the best kouign-amman in France, so I HAD TO share it with you.
Yes, it’s perfect: you can taste it with your eyes =)

If you are suffering from the same heat wave as we Parisians are: this could interest you. Fruitea is a mix of fruit juice, sorbet and tea and I think it’s an original refresher.


All you need is a mixer and:

  • 25 cl of cold tea or herbal infusion
  • 2 cups of fresh or frozen chopped fruits (I used pineapples and apples)
  • 1 scoop of sorbet (I used raspberry sorbet)
  • 4 ice cubes
